The SVS-5R is a high-capacity external storage device, to compliment Samsung Techwin's DVR range. The SVS-5R supports multiple RAID configurations, which offers enhanced data protection, as well as improved availability of data by distribution optimally across the disk array.

The Samsung SVS-5R DVR Storage Unit is an external storage device that can store up to 4TB of data (4 SATA hard disks of 1TB each), and is compatible with the Samsung Techwin range of DVRs. With SATA II technology, it is possible to achieve data transfer rates of up to 3.0 Gbps.

Hot-swappable disk drive bays allow you to easily add hard drives to the SVS-5R DVR Storage Unit, without shutting it down. The storage unit allows you to choose from multiple RAID levels (0, 1, 0+1, 5). An LCD display at the front shows current RAID status, and the USB port allows easy RAID configuration. It comes with a USB 2.0 port, and an external eSATA port for DVR connection, and draws power from a 115–230 VAC power supply.
